Palm Sunday: We celebrated Palm Sunday on March 20, with the children and choir carrying palms down the aisle at worship time. What a joy!

Easter Sunday on March 27, was celebrated during worship and adain during Coffee Fellowship, and is our Featured Ministry on April 1.
Did you know that free produce is distributed on the 4th Monday of each month at First United Methodist Church (Belcrest Road parking lot side). Next distribution is April 25. Distribution starts at 8:30 am in the parking lot and continues until the produce is gone. Please spread the word that this free produce distribution is open to all. Bring a bag or box. Produce, breads, and some meats are normally distributed. The food comes via donations to the PG County food bank. Volunteers are welcome each month to help (volunteers arrive at 8:00 am).
Monday Night Tutoring
Four of our students and four of our volunteer tutors
This is our 5th year of tutoring students from RPC and 3rd graders from University Park Elementary School referred to us by the teachers.  Patty Rhule started the program.  We currently have six students and eight volunteer tutors!  We serve a light meal to the kids, then spend time with them, one-on-one, doing homework, working on reading and word skills and listening.  If you're interested in becoming a tutor, contact Patty Rhule or Carolyn Fink.

The Community Cafe in Hyattsville serves free lunches for those in need every Monday-Wednesday and Friday (12:30-1:30 pm). RPC participated on Tuesday, May 10th, preparing and serving lunch. Jeff Studds, Joyce & Harry Korab and Margaret Lepore enjoyed the experience and invite anyone who is interested to join in at the next opportunity.  Community Cafe is located at the First United Methodist Church in Hyattsville at the corner of Queens Chapel and Belcrest Roads (6201 Belcrest Road).  See or contact Harry Korab to be involved at

Women's Retreat which was a great success with our pastor and 13 ladies attending (donations to cover some of the costs still welcome). We gathered together to study Women Saints under the leadership of Pastor Loril and enjoyed the companionship of our fellow members. And, we shared in celebration of Pastor Loril's birthday!  Our project this year was prayer boxes. We encourage everyone to begin their day with prayer:

O God, I want to begin this day you have given to me in worship and devotion to you. "Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, says the Lord." Zechariah 2:10
We celebrate Evelyn's 92nd birthday and weekly visits by members Irene and Linda. And, Traveling Mercies
to Bency and daughter Angel and a safe return in about a month.
Baby Shower for Marie Jeanne and Tharcissa (baby due on July 18!) and introduction of baby Dingana (Gilbert and Cynthia and family).
Welcome to our newest members Susan Tate and Pierre Kadjio, with member Shepherds Lori Jarman and John Prince.  Share in the joy of getting to know each other.
Intercultural worship trial run off to a great start; and last Sunday's youth worship assistant Muritz Kobe.
