Coffee Fellowship – will be held in Fellowship Hall today. Please join us!

Armor On! Join us each Sunday for a quick prayer gathering at 9:15 am. Ephesians 6:16-1716In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

 

Special Offering for Deacons – will be held this Sunday to help Deacons in their efforts to serve the congregation and community. Checks should indicate “Deacons” or you can use one of the special small white envelopes distributed by the Deacons. Thank you in advance for your donations. God is good!

 

Handle with Prayer every Sunday after Worship - 11:30am in Room #5/7 for a bible verse reading, short discussion and prayer time.  All ages welcome.

 

How can we pray for you?  God is good and He hears and answers our requests. Join us in this important ministry of lifting those in need of prayer. Bridge Club, hosted by the Word of God, meets on Thursdays, 9:00 am - Room #2.

 

Helping the Church - There are many ways to serve God and the Church of Jesus Christ.  If you are interested in providing a service for the church, please see Joy Kline, Jean Kline, or Pat Grob. There are many jobs available. Thank you to all who have helped with food and beverage donations, as well as assistance with the setup/cleanup. We also welcome parents and others to help with the children's ministry. See Elder India Kendall, Christian Formation, for details. We are more than a church ~ we are a church family.

 

Friday Family Movie Night, sponsored by The Word of God Baptist Church, will start this week on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 6:00-9:00pm to view the movie Fireproof in Fellowship Hall.

 

Adult Ministry will attend Toby’s Dinner Theatre in Columbia on Friday, November 17th to see the classic, Miracle on 34th Street.  If you’re interested in going, please see Joy or Jean Kline.

 

Save-the-Date: Deacon Food Baskets are scheduled for preparation on November 19th (Thanksgiving) and December 17th (Christmas). Donations of food and monies are requested to help those in need. Volunteers welcome!

 

PG Plaza Day Center - Homeless Ministry.  The Day Center, hosted by University Christian Church, 6800 Adelphi Rd., Hyattsville, MDis open every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 - 6:00 pm and provides a safe environment for the homeless in our area.  Services include some legal assistance, social services support, laundry, showers, and food.  Location is at University Christian Church, 6800 Adelphi Rd. Hyattsville.  Volunteers always welcome. Youth community service hours available.  A $3,000 grant was received from National Capital Presbtery (NCP) matching mission services of volunteer hours contributed by RPC members.
